An open forum, that will allow for the exchange of experiences and ideas on Project Management.
My Background:
IT Consulting for the last 32.5 years. 14 years as a consultant at Digital Equipment (DEC) and 18.5 years as a consultant at Oracle.
I have anohter 3.5 years of non-consulting experience at Fischer & Porter, where I did assembly language and Fortran programming for Process Control applications (e.g. power generation and water treatment plants).
While at DEC, I started as a programmer and later did Rdb/VMS Database work and even some VAX/VMS systems programming. My most memorable engagements were Glaxo SmithKline, MCI, McNeil Consumer Products, Shared Medical Systems and 5 years on the Lockheed Martin STGT Ground Terminal Project.
While at Oracle, I started as a principal consultant and left recently as a Senior Director. Although I did a lot of Practice Management, the last 10 years of my experience at Oracle was exclusively doing Project Management. Specifically, managing the implementation of Oracle e-Business Suite and associated products. My most memorable projects were submitorder.com, IKON Office Solutions, Sun Micro Systems, United Space Alliance, Tomkins and EA Sports.
Enough about me... This Blog is about sharing ideas.
